Send in your sighting

  • For just the odd ad hoc record, we support iRecord operated by National BRC. This is now SER's preferred option for online recording
Go to the iRecord page
  • For entry of species lists for a site, SER offers a customised portal
  • If you have problems accessing the embedded version of iRecord, the full website can be found here

SER is always interested in receiving records providing they include sufficient information (the four 'W's):

- the name of the species

- the location, preferably including the grid reference

- the recorder and determiner, if these are different

- the date of the sighting

However, there is an urgent need for records of the SBAP Priority Species, to facilitate the monitoring of the success of the Biodiversity Action Plan process.

These records can be supplied in a variety of formats:

Online Recording Form

Note: Most SBAP Priority Species are included on the pull-down menu for convenience, but those requiring some expertise or critical identification are omitted, but can still be recorded using other if you can support the identification.

Please send supporting digital photographs to records@staffs-ecology.org.uk.
