Natural History Society.The Society was formed in 1918 as an
amalgamation
of the Sheffield Naturalists' Club, the Sheffield Microscopical Society
and the Junior Naturalists' Club. The Society is still very active studying all branches of natural history (including
microscopy and geology) within the City of Sheffield and
around it, organising lectures, field trips
and scientific surveys and producing a wide variety of publications.

Bat Group is the county bat conservation organisation, formed in
1990
to increase knowledge, understanding and acceptance of bats. The Group
engages in promotional activities and research throughout the County of
Staffordshire in the UK and works with other bat groups and national
organisations
to further the cause of bat conservation.
